Awesome, until Tricky

The video kicked arse, but the clown ruined the overall effect. :(

The Beatles REW :)

Sundial responds:

Thank you, incanus. I think you made a little typo in your review there. You said "The Beatles REW :)" What I think you meant to say was "REWL." Since you are unable to edit your reviews, I will edit it for you.

ATTENTION! In the above review, incanus meant:
"The Beatles REWL :)"

And he couldn't ber more right.

That was great

I agree with you, Dale Earnhardt sucked. Your movie was funny... very funny. :) The graphics were a lot better than stick figures, I have to admit. :) hehe

Gir is cool.

I liked it a lot. Could have used a bit more sound... perhaps something of Gir speaking.. but overall, excellent. Can't wait for the full-fledged thing to come to NG.

Interesting..

I like it... interesting characters. It promises to be cool. The bit about the Lord of the Rings included in this was portayed by the mentioning of the "Hodiths" for "Hobbits" in the opening title... and then later on in the movie there was the Eye of Sauron floating around through the hallway.... it was greyish silver with a yellow and black eye... interesting enough, but still. It's good. The only major thing that I can complain about:

1. There is no sound throughout approximately half of this piece. There should be some kind of background music to keep it flowing and entertaining. Other than that, very good job. Congratulations :-)

Luke-Harris responds:

thank you very much!

Decent

I enjoyed this. Based off of the Battle of Helm's Deep from the Lord of the Rings... it was pretty enjoyable. There are a few things that could be improved on though... these are just helpful hints..... constructive criticisms if you may. 1. Fix the sound file of when the guys fall from the wall and onto the ground... it breaks up totally and takes away from the overall impact of the movie. 2. Maybe make a voice over for some of the characters? 3. Perhaps include more different types of characters fighting each other. To make it trully enjoyable, the on-screen chaos has to be incredible. If you recall from the book and the film, an army of 10,000 Uruk-hai was fighting against 300 refugees and soldiers of Rohan... sure, in the film they were backed up by the Elves of Lothlorien, and by the Riders of the Mark and Gandalf the White...... but still, in this film there were a pretty decent amount of characters on screen... and I know that it would be insane to put 10,000 gifs into a flash movie, but you should at least do your best to make it seem as if there were 10,000 or more Uruk-hai fighting against these soldiers and such. It was nice. I give this movie a 4.7, because it has a lot of great things in it, but also has some room to improve that if filled, would make it an awesome piece. :) Keep it up man!

SqEE-Ugh responds:

thanks..ill keep that in mind

:-)

Easily enjoyable. I love any of the works by J.R.R. Tolkien, and I consider Peter Jackson a brilliant man for bringing the trilogy to cinema. My heart is warmed to know that people enjoy the movie enough to make a parody of it as good as this. Very very nice. I have very few suggestions to make about this, but my good comments outweigh the bad ones. Okay, here goes. These are simply suggestions, rooms for improvement, if so desired. 1. The voice acting could be a weee bit more dramatic... but it doesn't have to be. 2. The use of clocks in this movie is fine... but aren't they a bit overplayed? (That's for you, the viewer to decide) Other than that, I can't find too much else to complain about. NG has gone from having very few LotR based movies to quite a few good ones. :) Keep it up Monkey.

Astounding

To begin, I would like to state that this movie is one of the absolute best that I have seen created. The fact that you used frame by frame animation is great, you did a wonderful job with the graphics. I spent just about as much time as you did making this movie, playing the game when it came out for the Sega Genesis way back when... if not three times the amount that you spent creating this movie. I hated that game so much, because after a long time, it got so very hard, and I did not buy the game, I only could rent it. At the rental store, they didn't give instruction manuals out with the games, because people used to steal them... (this was way back in 1992 or so), so, I was an adolescent without a clue to what the plotline of the game was, with limited knowledge of controls and such, but after time, I caught on to the story's plotline. I loved the game, even though I didn't very well understand it, and I became addicted to it. It had faded out of my memory until tonight, when I came across your movie in the Toons section. I think that it is absolutely wonderful :) You submitted this 3/28/01... and it is now 8/31/02. I took a look at your drop down list of movies, and I have not seen a sequal yet! You simply MUST continue this series, because it absolutely rules. My friend, you have just gained yourself yet another fan. Great job. If you ever do decide to finish the movie, or feel like replying to me... just review one of my portal submissions. Both of them are pieces of crap, but they were my first attempts at creating flash movies. :) I have been and still am working on a Final Fantasy 3(6)-type movie, and have yet to complete it. My skills as an animator have improved greatly since those last two sorry pieces of junk. Anyhow, I'd like to comment on the music of the piece. I really like how you used some Nine Inch Nails in there, I love Nine Inch Nails, and everything ties in together perfectly. Awesome job, please reply.

Incanus the Grey

Intriguingly Awesome!

I absolutely love all of the Final Fantasy Games... this was a great tribute! Good job on the characters, the animation was pretty dang sweet! Great job!!!

All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows Shall spring. Renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king. - J.R.R. Tolkien, Paraphrased.
